• Police arrested 25-year-old Firoz Ahamad in his native Bijnor and presented him before a city court on July 15.
• He admitted to hitting pedestrian Ashok on the head with an iron rod after the victim asked him to slow his motorcycle.
• Ashok was initially treated at Gurugram’s Civil Hospital and later referred to Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital, where he died on July 12.
• Investigators upgraded the FIR from assault to murder following Ashok’s death and traced the suspect using footage from more than 15 CCTV cameras.
