Overview
- According to the RBI schedule, banks will be shut on November 5 in states and UTs including Mizoram, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Nagaland, West Bengal, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Himachal Pradesh.
 - Online services such as UPI, ATMs, internet and mobile banking will operate normally, but branch-dependent services like cash counters, cheque clearing and demand drafts will pause during closures.
 - Punjab has declared a public holiday for all government and private schools on November 5, with closures also reported in Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, while other states may keep schools open or hold observances; families are advised to check local notices.
 - Further regional bank holidays this week include November 6 in Bihar (assembly elections) and Meghalaya (Nongkrem), November 7 in Meghalaya (Wangala), and November 8 in Karnataka for Kanakadasa Jayanthi alongside the nationwide second-Saturday closure.
 - Separate local orders in Meghalaya confirm that government offices and educational institutions in East Khasi Hills will be closed on November 6 for Nongkrem, with an additional school and bank holiday in the state on November 7 for Wangala.
