He alleged that he confronted a suspicious individual and forcibly retrieved the watch near a Helios store, raising suspicions about the involvement of store staff.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) reviewed CCTV footage and stated that Mehta was seen wearing the watch after the security check and boarding his flight without incident.
Both the CISF and Delhi Airport refuted Mehta's claims as unsubstantiated, emphasizing the potential for such posts to create unnecessary alarm among passengers.
Following the revelations, Dr. Mehta deleted his social media account, and authorities have not indicated whether legal action will be pursued against him for the false allegations.
