Overview
- On May 27 at Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena, Guns N’ Roses performed the New York Dolls’ “Human Being” live for the first time in their history.
- The band dedicated the debut rendition to David Johansen, who died in February at age 75 after a five-year battle with stage four cancer.
- “Human Being” was first recorded by the group for 1993’s The Spaghetti Incident? but had remained absent from their live set lists until now.
- Bassist Duff McKagan, a lifelong admirer of Johansen and the Dolls, led the performance as a nod to the band’s punk roots and influence.
- Guns N’ Roses’ tour moves next to Shekvetili Park in Georgia and concludes July 31 at Germany’s Wacken Open Air festival.
