Overview
- Shane Devon Tamura, 27, of Las Vegas, carried an assault rifle and wore a bulletproof vest when he entered 345 Park Avenue around 6:30 p.m. on July 28 and opened fire in the lobby.
- Four people, including a 36-year-old off-duty NYPD officer working security, died and multiple civilians were wounded before police contained the scene and confirmed the shooter’s self-inflicted death.
- NYPD, FBI and SWAT teams secured the 634-foot skyscraper housing Blackstone, the NFL, Deutsche Bank, KPMG and a Bank of America branch and conducted a floor-by-floor search for additional threats.
