Gunman Kills CDC Worker, Injures 4 in Atlanta Shooting Spree

  • Patterson fled the scene after the shooting but was captured hours later in a suburb northwest of Atlanta.
  • Patterson's mother said her son suffered from mental illness and had sought medication from the Veteran's Administration health system.
  • The victims have been identified as Amy St. Pierre, 39, who died at the scene, and Lisa Glynn, Georgette Whitlow, Jazzmin Daniel and Alesha Hollinger, who remained in critical but stable condition.
  • Patterson has been charged with one count of murder and four counts of aggravated assault.
