RCMP say in a release that 26-year-old Abjeet Kingra has a noted connection to the India-based Bishnoi gang, and a judge concluded that the attack on Dhillon's Vancouver Island home last year was not isolated.

  • Victoria provincial court sentenced Abjeet Kingra, 26, to six years for discharging a firearm and a concurrent two-year term for arson, with about 4½ years left after credit for time served.
  • The judge found Kingra acted on instructions from the India-based Lawrence Bishnoi crime group, which the federal government designated a terrorist entity this week.
  • Police say no one was injured in the Sept. 2, 2024 attack at AP Dhillon’s Colwood property, where multiple shots were fired and two vehicles were set ablaze.
  • Kingra, arrested in Ontario on Oct. 30, 2024 after the incident, also received a lifetime firearms ban and a DNA order.
  • An arrest warrant remains in effect for Vikram Sharma, 24, who is wanted on arson and firearms charges and is believed to be in India, with RCMP coordinating with partners to locate him.
