Gunman Goes on Deadly Scooter Shooting Spree Across NYC

  • A scooter-riding gunman shot four people at random in Queens and Brooklyn over two hours, killing one man and injuring three others before being arrested.
  • The gunman started by shooting a 21-year-old man in the shoulder in Cypress Hills then fatally shot an 86-year-old man in the back on Jamaica Avenue.
  • He shot two more victims, a 44-year-old man in the cheek and a 63-year-old man in the shoulder, as he drove around the neighborhoods on his scooter.
  • The 25-year-old Hispanic suspect was arrested near 94th Avenue less than two hours after the shooting began with a 9mm pistol and extended magazine in his possession.
  • The motive behind the seemingly random attacks, which took place over a 20-minute period starting around 11:30 a.m., remains unknown.
