The shooting occurred in a nearby Kentucky Fried Chicken parking lot, but no victims were found, and the shooter fled the scene before police arrived.
The game was in its final quarter with 10:45 left on the clock when the incident happened, leading to the match being called off after a nearly one-hour delay.
Both Saint Louis University and La Salle University confirmed via social media that all players and staff were safe following the incident.
La Salle was credited with a 1-0 win according to the Atlantic 10 conference's official website, despite the game's abrupt end.
