  • The National Hurricane Center has lowered Invest 93L’s chance of becoming a tropical depression to 30% over the next two to seven days after the system remained poorly organized.
  • The Weather Prediction Center has placed southern Louisiana under a Level 3 flash-flood risk and extended a Level 2 risk from east Texas to the Florida Panhandle through Friday night.
  • Forecast models predict 4 to 6 inches of rain across southern Louisiana (locally up to 8–10 inches) and 1 to 3 inches in eastern Texas, raising the threat of localized flooding.
  • Texas Gov. Greg Abbott activated state emergency resources and New Orleans officials opened sandbag distribution sites while closing public buildings ahead of the heaviest rainfall.
  • Invest 93L is expected to make its closest pass near the Louisiana coast Friday before turning northward and weakening to scattered showers by Saturday.
