Overview
- Gujarat was named the best performing startup ecosystem for the fifth consecutive time in DPIIT’s latest state rankings.
- In the large-state category, Karnataka, Punjab, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh were listed as top performers, with Rajasthan, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Telangana, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Haryana classified as leaders.
- New Delhi (NCT) placed lowest in the large-state group, which covers states and UTs with populations over one crore.
- Among smaller states and UTs, Arunachal Pradesh and Goa were designated best performers, with Himachal Pradesh as a top performer and Manipur, Nagaland and Meghalaya recognized as leaders.
- Uttarakhand earned a leader tag and received a Certificate of Appreciation on National Startup Day, as the evaluation panel included FICCI, NASSCOM, CII, Google and Rainmatter and coincided with calls to deepen work in manufacturing and AI.
