This decision aligns with the BJP's broader national agenda, as Gujarat follows Uttarakhand, which implemented a UCC in January 2025.
Opposition parties and minority groups have raised concerns about the potential impact on tribal and religious communities, accusing the government of diverting attention from pressing issues like inflation and unemployment.
