Gujarat Details Maruti Suzuki Khoraj Plant: 1 Million Capacity, FY29 Start

  • State officials framed a ₹35,000 crore project on a 1,750-acre site at Khoraj near Ahmedabad with total annual capacity of 10 lakh vehicles.
  • Maruti Suzuki disclosed in a BSE filing that its board approved ₹4,960 crore for land acquisition, infrastructure and preparatory work, funded via internal accruals and external borrowings.
  • The facility is planned in four phases of 2.5 lakh units each, with production from the first plant targeted in FY29 according to the Gujarat government.
  • The government projected about 12,000 direct jobs and potentially more than 7.5 lakh indirect employment opportunities through ancillary and MSME growth.
