Gujarat Bullet Train Stations Near Completion as MumbaiAhmedabad Project Hits New Milestones

Officials report finishing work at eight Gujarat stops with passenger services targeted in a few years.

Overview

  • NHSRCL says structural work is finished at Sabarmati, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Bilimora and Vapi, with interiors and passenger amenities now being installed.
  • The 508 km corridor with 12 stations is designed for 320 km/h operations, targeting an end‑to‑end journey of about 2 hours 7 minutes.
  • Civil works advance with roughly 4.5 km of the BKC–Shilphata tunnel excavated, viaducts built to around 317 km, trackbed laid to about 198 track km, more than 1,600 OHE masts erected and about 3.9 lakh noise‑barrier panels installed in Gujarat.
  • During his Japan visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said passenger services are planned in a few years and outlined an ambition for a 7,000 km high‑speed rail network drawing on the Indo‑Japanese partnership.
  • After crack reports in Maharashtra’s Palghar district, NHSRCL has mobilised a technical survey that has examined nearly 300 structures, with controlled blasting continuing under district supervision.
