Gujarat Begins Work on Sindoor Van Memorial Park Along Pakistan Border

An eight-hectare micro forest in Mirzapar will pay tribute to the valor of Indian forces during May’s Operation Sindoor.

Overview

  • Groundwork has commenced for Sindoor Van on forest department land in Mirzapar village, Kutch district.
  • The selected site includes the area where Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public rally on May 26.
  • The memorial will feature a high-density van kavach with about 80,000 trees, shrubs and climbers of 35–45 species.
  • Themed sections will install murals and dioramas honoring the Army, Navy, Air Force and BSF alongside a dedicated space for Pahalgam terror attack victims.
  • Officials project the park’s completion within 18 months as a lasting tribute to the joint strikes on nine terror camps.
