  • The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested Jasim Shahnawaz Ansari, 18, and a minor for orchestrating Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks on Indian government websites.
  • The suspects targeted more than 50 websites between April and May 2025, including at least 20 on May 7, the day Operation Sindoor was launched by India’s military.
  • The attackers used open-source tools from GitHub and learned hacking techniques via YouTube, employing Python, Termux, and Pydroid for their operations.
  • The accused operated Telegram channels, including 'Anonsec,' to coordinate attacks and post screenshots of disrupted websites with anti-India messages.
  • Both individuals face charges under the Information Technology Act, including cyberterrorism provisions, with the minor being processed under the Juvenile Justice Act.
