  • The Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and Indian Coast Guard seized 311 kg of methamphetamine worth ₹1,800 crore during an overnight operation on April 12-13, 2025.
  • The operation was initiated based on intelligence about a planned mid-sea drug transfer involving a Pakistani boat and an Indian vessel from Tamil Nadu.
  • Smugglers dumped the narcotics into the Arabian Sea and fled toward Pakistani waters upon spotting the Coast Guard patrol near the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL).
  • The narcotics, packaged in waterproof packets and recovered under challenging night conditions, have been transported to Porbandar for further investigation.
  • This is the 13th successful joint operation by the ATS and Coast Guard in recent years, underscoring effective inter-agency coordination against maritime drug trafficking.
