Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein Sets Limited Mexico Theatrical Run Before Nov. 7 Netflix Release

Pimienta Films has named the Mexican cinemas hosting the pre-release screenings.

  • The film will open in selected theaters across Mexico on October 23, 2025, ahead of its global Netflix debut on November 7, 2025.
  • Pimienta Films published the official nationwide venue list, which includes multiple Mexico City sites such as Cineteca Nacional de Xoco, Cineteca de las Artes, Cineteca Chapultepec, Cine Tonalá and others.
  • In Sonora, screenings are slated for Hermosillo at Cineteca Sonora, Agua Prieta at Cine Mall and San Luis Río Colorado at Cinetix, with detailed showtimes still pending for some locations.
  • In Michoacán, venues include Cinemas Madero in Zamora, Teatro Emperador Caltzontzin in Pátzcuaro—which announced a run from October 23 to 31—and Cinelia Paseo Altozano in Morelia.
  • Following a reported 13-minute standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival, del Toro frames the adaptation as an emotional, non-horror take starring Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi and Mia Goth.
