• AFI confirmed the festival dates as October 22–26 at Hollywood’s TCL Chinese Theatres.
• Del Toro’s Frankenstein is set for a world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, with a Netflix rollout in select theaters October 17 and streaming November 7.
• Opening night features 20th Century Studios’ Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere starring Jeremy Allen White, arriving after its September 28 world premiere at the New York Film Festival and before its October 24 theatrical release.
• AFI president and CEO Bob Gazzale hailed del Toro as a visionary cinephile in announcing the appointment.
