Águia de Marabá U-20 Bus Crash Leaves Trainer Dead, Coach in ICU

Police are examining the truck’s signaling in a rear-end crash on BR-153 near Santa Rita do Tocantins.

Overview

  • Physical trainer Hecton Alves, 33, died at the scene, and head coach Ronan Tyezer remains in intensive care in serious but stable condition at the Regional Hospital of Gurupi.
  • The PRF reported a rear-end collision around 7:25 p.m. on January 15 at km 591 of BR-153, with images showing the bus’s front heavily destroyed after striking a stationary cattle truck.
  • The club says the truck lacked warning signals, while the driver told police he had signaled; civil police opened an inquiry handled by the 74th precinct, and the drivers gave statements and will respond in freedom.

  • The football community issued condolences, and the São Paulo federation ordered a minute of silence in Copinha matches and the next Paulista round.
