Guardians Place Alex Cobb on Injured List, Promote Andrew Walters

Cleveland Guardians' pitcher Alex Cobb sidelined with a blister, opening the door for rookie Andrew Walters' MLB debut.

Alex Cobb, recently acquired by the Guardians, has been placed on the 15-day injured list due to a blister on his middle finger.
Cobb, 36, has a 2-1 record with a 2.76 ERA in three starts for Cleveland, including a near-perfect game against Pittsburgh on Sept. 1.
This is Cobb's second stint on the IL since joining the Guardians, following his recovery from offseason hip surgery and shoulder inflammation.
Andrew Walters, a 23-year-old right-hander, has been called up from Triple-A Columbus to fill Cobb's roster spot.
Walters, Cleveland's second-round pick in 2023, will make his MLB debut after posting a 2.32 ERA in 50 relief outings in the minors this season.
