Guardia Civil Reveal Cohabitation Preceded Málaga Homicide

Investigators say a confession backed by biological traces on a recovered weapon supports the case.

Overview

  • The body of a 42-year-old man from Puente Genil was found semi-naked with signs of violence on November 2 near the A-369 in Alpandeire, and an autopsy determined death by multiple traumatic injuries.
  • Guardia Civil disclosed that the victim, his partner, and her ex-husband lived together for several days before the killing.
  • After that period, the ex-husband allegedly offered the victim a ride to Gaucín’s train station but instead drove to an isolated area and delivered repeated blows with a blunt object.
  • Investigators say the suspect placed the body in a trunk lined with plastic, kept the vehicle at his home, later abandoned the body in Alpandeire, used the victim’s phone, discarded items in a bin, and hid the weapon in a Gaucín storage area where it was recovered with incriminating biological traces.
  • The suspect was arrested on November 6, acknowledged the facts in the presence of counsel, took part in a reconstruction, and was placed in provisional prison by judicial order on November 9.
