GTA 5 PC Update Adds Console Features and Exclusive Enhancements

Rockstar Games confirms free March 4 upgrade for GTA 5 on PC, bringing next-gen console features and PC-specific improvements.

  • The free update will include ray tracing features exclusive to PC, such as ambient occlusion and global illumination, alongside previously console-exclusive features like ray-traced shadows and reflections.
  • Players will gain access to new vehicles, upgrades, and content in GTA Online, including Hao’s Special Works, animal encounters, and a refreshed Career Progress feature.
  • The update introduces faster loading times via SSD and DirectStorage, higher resolutions, aspect ratios, and frame rates, as well as DualSense controller support with adaptive triggers.
  • GTA+ subscription service will be available on PC for the first time, offering benefits like monthly in-game currency, exclusive vehicles, and other perks.
  • Rockstar will continue supporting the older PC version of GTA 5 for players with lower-spec hardware, though online sessions will be split between the upgraded and original versions.
