GST 2.0 Recasts Two-Wheeler Prices: Sub-350cc Cut, Bajaj Holds Triumph and KTM

Lower tax on mass-market bikes and parts reduces ownership costs as a new 40% slab raises pressure on larger motorcycles.

Overview

  • With GST 2.0 in force from Sept. 22, bikes up to 350cc and most components move to 18% GST from 28%, while models above 350cc face roughly 40%.
  • Suzuki, Kawasaki and others said they will pass the full tax benefit to buyers of sub-350cc models and spares, with Suzuki listing savings up to Rs 18,024 in Delhi.
  • Bajaj launched a Pulsar ‘Hattrick Offer’ that adds zero processing fees and insurance to the full GST pass-through, taking total festive-season savings to as much as Rs 23,467 depending on model and state.
  • Bajaj also said prices for India-made Triumph 400cc and KTM 390 models will remain unchanged despite the higher slab, a move that could undercut rivals expecting hikes on larger-capacity bikes.
  • Model-wise cuts were published across brands, including Royal Enfield’s 350cc range (Classic 350 down up to Rs 19,222), KTM’s 160/200/250 series (up to Rs 20,000 off), and Keeway’s V302C (Rs 30,000 off), while Kawasaki updated both lower and higher-capacity pricing.
