GST 2.0 Lowers Sub-350cc Bike Prices, Bajaj Keeps KTM and Triumph 400 Prices Unchanged

Manufacturers pair tax pass-throughs with financing and insurance incentives to lift festive demand and, in Bajaj’s case, shield select 400cc models from the new 40% levy.

Overview

  • Effective Sept. 22, GST on two-wheelers up to 350cc fell from 28% to 18%, with most brands passing on the cut and reducing ex-showroom and ownership costs.
  • Suzuki revised prices across its scooters and motorcycles with savings up to Rs 18,024 and extended the benefit to spares and accessories from today.
  • Royal Enfield’s 350cc range dropped by up to Rs 19,222, while Honda, Hero and TVS also announced reductions on sub-350cc models, according to brand disclosures and reports.
  • Bajaj launched a Pulsar “Hattrick Offer” that combines full GST pass-through with zero processing fees and insurance, taking total buyer benefits to as much as Rs 23,467 depending on model and state.
  • Autocar India reports Bajaj will absorb the higher GST on India-made Triumph and KTM motorcycles above 350cc to hold prices, and separate reporting suggests the Bajaj–Triumph tie-up may explore sub-350cc models within a year to avoid the higher slab.
