Groupia Enters Administration and Cancels Later Bookings

ABTOT arrangements are being used to keep many near-term group trips running while cancelled bookings move into a formal refund process.

Overview

  • Groupia Ltd entered administration on June 16, 2026 and joint administrators Nigel Fox and Christopher Marsden of S&W Partners LLP were appointed to manage the company.
  • The business has stopped taking new bookings and told customers that events booked on or before 31 August 2026 are expected to go ahead under ABTOT arrangements.
  • Bookings for travel from 1 September 2026 onwards have been cancelled and are now subject to refund claims rather than continuation.
  • Customers who paid by credit or debit card are advised to seek refunds or chargebacks through their card provider while those who paid other ways must submit online claims to Gallagher Bassett acting for ABTOT; Groupia has published template letters and says claims may take up to six weeks to process.
  • Groupia, founded in 2002 and known for stag/hen weekends, golf and school trips under brands such as GoHen and StagWeb, served over 750,000 customers and its collapse will concentrate handling of many group-travel claims and bookings on ABTOT and payment providers in the coming weeks.
