Overview
- Groupia Ltd went into administration on 16 June and appointed joint administrators Nigel Fox and Christopher Marsden, after which the firm stopped taking new bookings.
- ABTOT, the UK travel protection body, has arranged continuity for events scheduled to depart on or before 31 August so those trips are expected to go ahead.
- Any Groupia bookings with departures on or after 1 September have been cancelled and customers must submit refund claims through the channels set out by ABTOT or seek chargeback if they paid by card.
- The collapse affects Groupia’s multiple sub-brands, including GoHen, StagWeb, Groupia Golf, Groupia School Trips and Company Away Days, disrupting hen/stag parties, school trips, ski trips and spa breaks across the UK and Europe.
- Groupia is the 13th UK travel firm to fail in 2026, a pattern that could raise pressure on protection schemes and lengthen refund waits for affected customers as administrators and insurers process claims.
