Group Convicted of Plot to Kidnap Essex Coroner

Defendants found guilty of conspiracy and false imprisonment after attempting to abduct senior coroner Lincoln Brookes.

Lincoln Brookes received bizarre letters and emails threatening corporal punishment before the kidnapping attempt.
The group, led by Mark Christopher, claimed to represent a self-styled legal system called the Federal Postal Court.
All four defendants were found guilty by a majority verdict after a two-week trial at Chelmsford Crown Court.
Christopher also convicted of sending threatening letters intended to cause distress and anxiety.
The defendants will be sentenced in September, with additional charges against Matthew Martin still under deliberation.
