Ground Handling Strikes in Spain and Portugal Trigger Flight Cuts and Travel Warnings

Spanish baggage handlers will launch recurring strikes from August 15 across 12 airports with Portuguese ground staff staging weekend walkouts until September 1

  • Ryanair has removed flights to Alicante, Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca and Tenerife South in anticipation of the Azul Handling baggage handler strike.
  • Over 3,000 Azul Handling staff will strike every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from August 15 to December 31 during three peak periods each day.
