Grizzlies Sign Yuki Kawamura to Two-Way Contract

The 5-foot-8 Japanese guard joins Memphis after impressing in the preseason and filling a roster spot vacated by Derrick Rose.

Kawamura averaged 3.4 points and 4.2 assists per game in the preseason, showcasing his playmaking skills.
At 5-foot-8, Kawamura becomes the shortest active player in the NBA and one of the shortest since the ABA-NBA merger.
The Grizzlies needed additional depth at point guard following Derrick Rose's retirement before the preseason.
Kawamura's signing fills the last of Memphis' three two-way contract slots, alongside Jay Huff and Cam Spencer.
While on a two-way contract, Kawamura can play in up to 50 games but will not be eligible for the playoffs.
