  • USTA confirmed Dimitrov’s August 12 withdrawal from Flushing Meadows while he continues recovery from the chest injury suffered at Wimbledon.
  • The decision terminates his run of 58 consecutive Grand Slam appearances dating back to the 2011 Australian OpenAlAlejandro Tabilo, ranked No. 106, will move into the men’s singles draw when the tournament begins on August 24.
  • Brandon Holt is now first in line to enter the main draw if another player withdraws before the tournament starts.
  • Dimitrov has set a goal of returning at the China Open in late September, contingent on the progress of his pectoral rehabilitation.
