Overview

  • Canning crumpled to the ground with an apparent left ankle injury in the third inning of the June 26 game against the Atlanta Braves and was helped off the field.
  • He departed after 2⅔ innings in which he allowed one hit, struck out three and was relieved by Austin Warren.
  • The Mets are awaiting MRI and related imaging results to assess the severity of Canning’s ankle damage.
