Greyhound Bus Crash in Tennessee Injures 39

Investigators are still seeking answers after Monday evening’s crash near Jackson sent 27 people to hospitals.

Overview

  • The bus, carrying 32 passengers along with a primary driver and a relief driver, was traveling from Memphis to Nashville when it crashed on Highway 70 East in Madison County around 6:48 p.m. on May 26.
  • Of the 39 people hurt in the accident, 27 were transported to hospitals for treatment.
  • Emergency responders from the Madison County Fire Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Madison County Sheriff’s Office and MedCenter EMS worked at the scene and asked motorists to avoid the area.
  • Greyhound reports that 30 people were hospitalized and that most of those patients have since been released.
  • Authorities have not determined what caused the crash and continue to investigate.
