Green Party Faces Internal Contest Over Berlin Bundestag Candidacy

Sergey Lagodinsky, an EU Parliament member since 2019, has entered the race, citing the need to unify and strengthen the Pankow Green Party amid the ongoing controversy.
Two additional candidates, Yüksel Calis and Paul Eschenhagen, have also declared their intention to run, though their chances are considered slim.
The Pankow Green Party will hold a vote on January 8 to decide their Bundestag candidate, following an earlier November vote where Gelbhaar was initially selected with 98.4% support.
