Green Line Train Derails in Cambridge, Injuring Seven

MBTA investigates human factors as shuttle buses replace disrupted service between North Station and Medford/Tufts.

The derailment occurred at approximately 5 p.m. on Tuesday near Lechmere Station, forcing around 50 passengers to evacuate.
Seven individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
The MBTA has ruled out track issues and is focusing its investigation on the train operator's actions.
Shuttle buses are running between North Station and Medford/Tufts and Union Square in Somerville to replace the disrupted Green Line service.
The National Transportation Safety Board is sending a team to assist with the investigation into the derailment.
