Greater Manchester Bus Strikes Return From 30 September, Cutting Two-Thirds of Bee Network Services

More than 2,000 Unite drivers are striking over pay offered by Stagecoach, Metroline Manchester, First Bus Rochdale.

  • The next walkout is scheduled from Tuesday 30 September into early October, with reports differing on whether it ends on 1 or 2 October.
  • Around two-thirds of Bee Network buses will be off the road during the stoppage, including some school services.
  • TfGM says Metrolink and trains will run as normal and Bee Network bus tickets can be used on those services.
  • Five Bury routes will not operate during the strike, with TfGM also pointing passengers to alternative services including Blackburn Bus Company routes.
  • Services in Bolton and Wigan are set to run, and TfGM is urging renewed negotiations to resolve the pay dispute.
