Grant Fisher and Yared Nuguse Shatter World Records at Millrose Games

Fisher sets a new 3,000m indoor record, while Nuguse breaks the indoor mile mark in a historic night for American middle-distance running.

Grant Fisher broke the men's indoor 3,000m world record with a time of 7:22.91, surpassing the previous mark of 7:23.81 set by Ethiopia's Lamecha Girma in 2023.
Fisher's victory came after a thrilling duel with Olympic 1,500m champion Cole Hocker, who also ran under the previous world record with a time of 7:23.14.
Yared Nuguse set a new indoor mile world record with a time of 3:46.63, eclipsing the previous record of 3:47.01 held by Yomif Kejelcha since 2019.
Nuguse's record-breaking performance was closely followed by Hobbs Kessler, whose time of 3:46.90 also surpassed the previous world record.
The 117th Millrose Games featured standout performances across multiple events, including world-leading times in the 60-meter hurdles by Masai Russell and Dylan Beard.
