• Cleveland Police said the arrest total rose to nine after a man and woman, both 23, were detained on Monday on suspicion of serious offences including section 18 GBH, arson, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, criminal damage, assisting an offender and money laundering.

• The inquiry follows a sequence of linked incidents on October 16 in which a shot was fired at a car, a vehicle was driven into a house and another car was set alight, with forensic teams documenting scenes and officers conducting door-to-door checks.
