• A federal grand jury on Thursday charged Marimar Martinez, 30, and Anthony Ian Santos Ruiz, 21, with assault and attempted murder of a federal employee.
• DOJ says the pair used cars to block and ram agents' vehicles near 39th Street and Kedzie during immigration operations in Brighton Park.
• According to DOJ, agents exited their vehicles and fired five shots at Martinez while she was inside her car, and both suspects then drove away.
• Ruiz was arrested outside his business shortly after, and court records say Martinez was found at a nearby auto body shop, taken to a hospital for treatment, and released.
• Martinez is scheduled to appear in federal court at 1 p.m. today, and her attorney says officer bodycam footage contradicts DHS claims and may be played.
