Overview

• Deonize Lee Jr., 22, was already jailed in the Aug. 16, 2025 fatal shooting of his stepfather, Jeremy Thomas, in St. Matthews.
• Monday’s indictments add the July 9, 2023 killing of Mozell Issacc Johnson Jr. in Park Hill and the Aug. 13, 2025 shooting of Jermia “Squeaky” Offutt on West Broadway.
• Offutt was four months pregnant, and court records list related charges including fetal homicide, wanton endangerment and tampering with evidence.
• St. Matthews Police Chief Barry Wilkerson said Lee cooperated with officers and was arrested the day Thomas was shot.
• Lee remains in Louisville Metro Corrections on a $1,000,000 bond as victims’ families urge community and officials to act to reduce gun violence.
