Grand Floridian Lobby Refresh Progresses: Staircase Reopens as New Fixtures Go In

Disney targets November completion as roadway upgrades reshape resort arrival.

Overview

  • Four gold-tone light fixtures are now installed behind the temporary walls at the former check-in area, aligning with new decorative wall panels.
  • The main staircase has reopened after a multiweek closure with a teal floral carpet and a new mural of the resort above it.
  • The birdcage‑inspired lobby bar continues to take shape with added wood‑grain elements, white panels, and planters following removal of the original aviary.
  • Additional finish work includes new wallpaper in the elevator bays, refreshed lighting and carpets near Cítricos and Victoria & Albert’s, and visible activity inside the long-closed Garden View Tea Room.
  • Outside the hotel, Disney has filed a permit to reconfigure the entrance to connect with World Drive roundabouts as crews widen and reroute Floridian Way, and the 2025 life-size gingerbread display will not return during the renovation.
