Overview
- A Glasgow jury returned guilty verdicts on Monday after a five-day High Court trial that heard evidence from two complainants who were primary school age at the time.
- Dott was convicted of two counts of lewd, indecent and libidinous behaviour relating to separate sets of offences alleged between 1993–1996 and 2006–2010 in the Glasgow area.
- Court testimony described exposure, inappropriate touching, shower incidents and abuse in a car, and the Crown relied on historic witness statements including one first made to police in 2001.
- Dott, who denied the allegations throughout the trial, was remanded in custody, told to register on the sex offenders register and will return for sentencing in Edinburgh on September 29.
- The conviction ends a long-running public case that had prompted the WPBSA to suspend Dott in 2025 and will carry legal, professional and reputational consequences for the former 2006 World Snooker Champion.
