Overview

  • GPD has officially confirmed the WIN 5 handheld powered by AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU in a teaser video on X.
  • The device sustains a 55–58 W power draw and holds processor temperatures near 65 °C under load, underscoring its advanced cooling solution.
  • To accommodate the flagship APU, GPD omitted an internal battery in favor of either an 80 Wh external “backpack” or direct 180 W wall charging.
  • Leaked spec details reveal two APU options (Ryzen AI Max+ 395 or AI Max 385), up to 128 GB of unified memory, USB4 with 100 W PD and 8K/60 Hz DisplayPort output, plus an optional HDMI/USB dock.
  • Final design, pricing and availability for the WIN 5 will be unveiled during its public debut at ChinaJoy 2025, running August 1–5.
