Overview
- Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, on his first visit to Qatar, will be in Doha on October 6–7 to co-chair the commission with Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani.
- Discussions are expected to review bilateral trade, tackle tariff and non-tariff barriers, and explore measures to boost investment.
- A senior industry delegation will meet Qatari commercial bodies including Qatar Chamber, Qatar Financial Centre, Invest Qatar and the Qatar Free Zones Authority.
- Cooperation across finance, agriculture, environment, tourism, culture and healthcare is on the agenda, according to the Indian Commerce Ministry.
- Bilateral trade in FY2024–25 was estimated at more than $14 billion, with goods exports of $1.68 billion and imports of $12.46 billion.
