Overview
- India’s commerce minister will be in Doha on October 6–7 to co-chair the Qatar–India Joint Commission meeting with Qatar’s commerce minister, Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani.
- Talks are expected to chart the way forward on finalizing the Terms of Reference for a proposed Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.
- Officials will review two-way trade, estimated at over USD 14 billion in 2024–25, with an emphasis on resolving tariff and non-tariff barriers.
- A business delegation will join for the first India–Qatar Joint Business Council meeting and engagements with Qatar Chamber, Qatar Financial Centre, Invest Qatar and Qatar Free Zones Authority.
- Planned discussions include cooperation across finance, agriculture, environment, tourism, culture and healthcare.
