Overview
- The 1,900 m² facility includes closed-circuit video surveillance, an integrated audio system, 13 bus bays and seven ticket booths alongside waiting areas and commercial spaces.
- Governor Gustavo Sáenz framed the inauguration as a demonstration of provincial self-reliance and urged national legislators to “cut off their hand” before voting against Salta ahead of October’s elections.
- Initially launched with national financing, the project was carried through by Salta’s administration following funding cuts, with redetermined prices and added works driving costs past ARS 1,100 million.
- Mayor Carlos Rosso said operations could begin in two to three weeks, pending the relocation of temporary ticket booths, internet setup and completion of adjacent street and drainage works.
- Officials say the terminal will strengthen connectivity on Route 34, improve passenger safety by reducing roadside stops and create jobs in ticketing, security, cleaning and hospitality.
