Governor Felicitates Meghalaya Delegation for National Youth Festival 2026

Twenty-five youth will represent the state at the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue after qualifying through a rigorous multi-stage process.

  • The programme was organized by the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs in collaboration with My Bharat Kendra.
  • Delegates will attend the festival at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from January 9 to 12 with an interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 11.
  • Meghalaya’s 'Design for Bharat' slot features NIT Shillong students Nishant Kumar Singh and Necharika Singh, who built a Smart Braille Watch for visually impaired users.
  • The state also sends 23 cultural performers and competitors in declamation, poetry and painting, with the folk dance Ka Shad Mastieh slated for performance in New Delhi.
