Government Unveils National Padyatra for Sardar@150, Starting Nov 26 From Karamsad to Statue of Unity

The Youth Affairs ministry detailed an 11-day, 190 km march designed to mobilize young people for nation-building under Ek Bharat ideals of self-reliance.

  • The National Padyatra will run from November 26 to December 6, covering roughly 190 km from Sardar Patel’s hometown of Karamsad to the Statue of Unity with daily participation by senior leaders, 150 thematic stops, Sardar Sabhas, evening Gram Sabhas and a swadeshi-only focus.
  • Officials said lakhs have already joined district-level Sardar@150 unity marches nationwide through November 25 as part of the central campaign to mark Patel’s 150th birth anniversary.
  • In Gujarat, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi led an eight-kilometre march in Surat, while Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel fronted a Ghatlodia procession that urged adoption of swadeshi products and cited the Statue of Unity and Article 370 abrogation as reinforcing national unity.
  • Bhavnagar and Vadodara events drew large public participation with cultural performances and pledges, as Union minister Nimuben Bambhaniya cast the marches as a platform linking youth to nation-building and Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
  • Beyond Gujarat, BJP leaders led an Ekta Yatra in Varanasi and padyatras across Jammu, and Union minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar urged youth to enter politics while noting the October 31 to November 25 schedule of unity events.
