Overview

• The Category 2 funeral service will begin at 09:00 on Sunday, 12 October, at the Siyabonga Sangweni Sport Complex in Kwa-Mbonambi, under the uMfolozi Local Municipality north of Richards Bay.
• The designation entails ceremonial elements performed by the South African Police Service in line with state protocol.
• The proceedings will be broadcast live on local television and streamed on GovernmentZA’s Facebook, X (Twitter), and YouTube channels.
• Members of the public can send condolences to [email protected] or sign books at sites including the Union Buildings, Parliament and Tuynhuys, OR Tambo and King Shaka airports, embassies, legislatures, ANC headquarters, and all Premiers’ Offices.
• Media accreditation will be issued at uMfolozi Local Municipality offices on Saturday from 15:00 to 19:00 and Sunday from 07:00 to 10:00, with temporary road closures planned between the service venue and the burial site.
