Overview

  • The notice period for SSC examinations has been cut from roughly 45 days to about 21 days, according to Minister Jitendra Singh.
  • All examinations have shifted from pen-and-paper to computer-based tests, with descriptive papers removed except for the Hindi translators exam.
  • Interviews have been discontinued and document verification is now handled by the recruiting ministries or departments.
  • An online centralised e-dossier system with role-based access and end-to-end tracking has been deployed in major 2024 exams, speeding pre-appointment verification.
  • The minister also noted expanded use of 13 regional languages for key all-India exams since 2022, and recent SSC scheduling changes included postponing CGL 2025 to September after a technical platform review.
